An Essec study reveals that peer monitoring in the workplace can be beneficial. The study found that when employees can observe each other's efforts and performance, it reduces the temptation to manipulate results. Conversely, observing only performance can lead to employees embellishing their results. An ethical work environment further decreases the likelihood of cheating.
